Geo sapiens II and One Volume One

Geo sapiens II, Geology and Art
Two Wall Gallery hosted Geo sapiens II, Geology and Art, during September, 2010. About 35 geoscientists from around the world were represented in this show, which was a sequel to Geo sapiens I, held in November of 2009. Each of the geoscientists relied upon his/her experience in the field and familiarity with the natural world to express connections with geology and the Earth, and to show reverence for the nature and structure of our planet. Works in many media were presented, including oil, watercolor, pencil, stone sculpture and mosaic panels, stained glass, photography (including microphotography), and even calligraphy and a lamp made from obsidian. Exhibitors hailed from across the US, Canada, the UK, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and eastern Europe. This was quite literally the largest and most comprehensive collection of art works done solely by earth scientists and students of geology since Geo sapiens I, which was the first such attempt.
